In the month of June, 2020 the Right to Food & Work Network has wrote a letter to Shri Jawaid Akhtar, Labour commissioner-Govt.of West Bengal, demanding for immediate measures to address the concerns of "Bidi Shramiks" of Malda, Murshidabad, Uttar Dinajpur & Dakshin Dinajpur who have experienced a drastic reduction in their daily income due nationwide restriction imposed on movement by the government to combat and restrict spread of Corona Virus.
